One-time Birmingham City manager Steve Cotterill is in talks over a return to Cheltenham Town – 23 years after his first stint as Robins boss ended.
Cotterill has been out of work since leaving Forest Green Rovers at the end of last season after they failed to return to League Two at the first time of asking.

Forest Green finished third in the National League under Cotterill but missed out on promotion via the play-offs. Ex-Blues midfielder Robbie Savage replaced Cotterill in the job and has led Forest Green to the summit of the National League after 12 games.
Cheltenham are still in the EFL but their League Two status is under threat after a wretched start to the season.
They have only taken four points from their opening 10 games and sacked manager Michael Flynn last weekend. Things have got worse for the Robins without Flynn and they lost 7-1 to Grimsby Town on Saturday.

Cotterill, who had an unsuccessful spell in charge of Blues having briefly been assistant to Harry Redknapp in 2017, is in talks over succeeding Flynn according to GloucestershireLive.
The 61-year-old managed Cheltenham between 1997 and 2002 and led them to three promotions before moving to the Championship with Stoke City.
Cotterill’s managerial career has also included stints at Burnley, Notts County, Portsmouth, Bristol City and Shrewsbury Town.
