An woman was taken to hospital this morning following a crash in Edinburgh’s city centre involving the drivers of a car and bus.

Frederick Street was closed off by police at 9.35am to facilitate the investigation and reopened two hours later.

Several Lothian bus services were also diverted.

It is not known the nature of the woman’s injuries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.35am on Tuesday, 30 September, 2025, police received a report of a crash on Frederick Street, Edinburgh, involving a car and a bus.

“One woman was taken to hospital for assessment and the road was cleared around 11.40am.”
