During the summer window, there were various links to players for Leeds United to sign, and they varied in their credibility as Daniel Farke missed out on a key attacker addition.
The final days of the summer window were of course disappointing for Leeds, but to get their new signings off the mark with goals away at Wolves was an ideal boost.
It doesn’t detract from the fact that Daniel Farke believes he’s short of options in the final third, relative to what he’d have liked in the summer.

Could Leeds United sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after Besiktas release?
Looking at the free agent market, it was around this time last year that Leeds acted fast to bring in Josuha Guilavogui as a stop-gap solution to the midfield injury crisis.
In the end, the Frenchman wasn’t required much at all in a playing capacity, and was more seen as a father figure to the squad on the way to promotion.
Leeds missing out on an attacking midfield profile that could also play wide led to suggest of the free agent market, in which Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain still features.

Football Insider and other outlets have claimed United were interested in the 32-year-old England international. However, there’s been no movement since he left Turkish giants Besiktas, who severed his contract, costing £1.5million compensation.
Major issue(s) with Leeds United suggested to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Leeds signed one injury-prone England international during the summer window on a free transfer, would they sign another?
Oxlade-Chamberlain was a regular for Arsenal and Liverpool during his time at both clubs. His drop-off since into his 30s has been considerable.
He’s missed 58 games through injury since the start of the 20/21 campaign. He was then cut loose from his contract in Turkey with a year remaining. If a Turkish side doesn’t think he’s worth keeping around purely on wages alone, it suggests he’s nearly not of Premier League standard.

If a player is still a free agent going into October, then there’s a good reason for it.
