There were some outstanding performances on Saturday at Elland Road with a few Leeds United players earning plaudits in the media, and among supporters, for their display.
It might have ended heartbreakingly, with Leeds failing to beat Bournemouth and conceding another injury-time goal, but Daniel Farke’s side will take plenty of positives moving into the next games.
Karl Darlow continued his superb form, Graham Smyth thinks Jayden Bogle has started better in the Premier League than in the Championship. Troy Deeney named Joe Rodon in his Team of the Week.
Brenden Aaronson got a standing ovation when he came off, and while Dominic Calvert-Lewin missed a few chances, Jermaine Beckford said Calvert-Lewin was “unbelievable” during Saturday’s 2-2 draw.

But head and shoulders above any Leeds player and most other Premier League players, was Sean Longstaff. A goal and an assist, Longstaff even got away with threatening to “chin” Michael Oliver.
Leeds fans were in awe, even comparing Longstaff to Lee Bowyer. Indeed, Longstaff became the first-ever Premier League player to create seven chances but also win 10 duels in a Premier League match.
Now, Longstaff has been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Weekend award, alongside the likes of Erling Haaland, Declan Rice, Danny Welbeck and even Leeds’ summer target Emi Buendia.

Leeds United respond brilliantly to Sean Longstaff nomination
When there is a vote on social media that involves Leeds, there is normally only one answer. Longstaff is one of eight players up for the vote, with Robin Roefs, Daichi Kamada and Brentford’s Igor also picked.
Leeds responded to the news in hilarious fashion, posting: “The Premier League are asking who was Player of Matchweek 6, we might be bias, but the correct answer is Sean Longstaff…”

There is no doubt that Longstaff will be one of the first names on the team sheet come Saturday when Leeds go up against Tottenham. Longstaff himself says he cannot wait to face Spurs at Elland Road.
