Dozens of trains have been cancelled or delayed following an emergency incident near Manchester.
Northern, TransPennine Express and Transport for Wales services are all affected by an incident this morning (October 1).
Emergency services have been working on the line between Newton-le-Willows and Manchester. The incident is understood to be in the Patricroft area, in Salford.
All railway lines are closed through the area as a result of the incident, with disruption expected to last until 10am.

A National Rail spokesperson said: “All lines are closed between Manchester Victoria / Manchester Oxford Road and Newton-le-Willows whilst the emergency services deal with an incident.
“Trains travelling between these stations may be delayed by up to 45 minutes, cancelled or revised. Disruption is expected until 10:00.”
Further details about the emergency incident are yet to be confirmed. British Transport Police has been approached for information.
