A man from Liverpool, who went to Morocco at the start of last month, has not been in contact since, according to his worried family. Peter Forrest, from Old Swan, travelled to Marrakesh, Morocco, on September 5 alone, claiming he was moving to the country permanently.

Olivia Barton, 23, his niece, has made a heartfelt plea for anyone who may have information about his whereabouts since he went missing. Olivia explained how they last heard from the 53-year-old on September 20, with his points of contact within the family being herself, her mum and Peter’s son, Ben.

She said: “He went to Morocco on September 5 and we haven’t heard from him since September 20; no one has spoken to him since.

“He usually speaks to me, his mum or his son but there’s been nothing.”

She added: “We’re all worried sick. It’s not like him to not be in touch with us.”

Peter last posted on Facebook on September 14, with Merseyside Police confirming the force had received a missing person report on September 26.

Olivia and her family have posted appeals on social media, with Peter being described as white with brown hair and blue eyes.

She also said a report has been made with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. The government department has been approached for comment.

Olivia added: “We’re sharing the appeal everywhere in case someone has spoken to him that we don’t know about. We just want to know he is okay.”
