Peter Grant’s love for Celtic is legendary and he wears his heart on his sleeve.

The Celtic hero will criticise the club when it is needed but will also praise the Parkhead club as Grant’s passion is second to none.

However, with Celtic looking to win another treble this season to continue their dominance over Scottish football, the other team across the city have different business to contend with.

Ending the season trophyless, the San Francisco 49ers proposed takeover of Rangers looks set to go ahead but Grant has shared the Celtic reason he believes the Ibrox club will be trying to push it through quickly.

Many Celtic fans, whilst keeping an eye on what’s going on at Ibrox, are no that worried about the 49ers’ takeover of Rangers.

However, with things moving forward slowly, Grant has shared the petty Celtic reason the Ibrox club will look to push this move through quickly.

Grant told The Go Radio Football Show [1h 36m 45s], “I think it’s certain to happen.

“It’s just the timing of it, but I think they’re making sure, of course, Rangers have nothing to play for now, they can’t have Celtic having all the headlines, so they’ll definitely be trying to make something happen.”

Celtic’s dominance as Rangers continue to flounder

Celtic are now going for their sixth treble in nine years as Rangers continue to flounder from season to season.

The Hoops are also going for four-in-a-row as well as looking to wrap up their 13th title in 14 years.

Coupled with a double last season and potential record ninth domestic treble, Celtic’s success over the Ibrox club has been phenomenal.

And no one has mentioned that Celtic are officially Scotland’s most successful club either now, have they?
