Meghan Mlarke acted “like the total star” when she stepped out in New York City yesterday with Prince Harry, a body language expert has said. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, stepped out in the city ahead of her talk at the Time100 Summit. However, while Harry, 40, was by her side as they arrived at the event, a body language expert has said the duke was very much in “spare mode” and at one point even seemed to be ignored by Meghan.
In an exclusive chat with Express.co.uk, body language expert Judi James said: “Harry appears to be in ‘spare’ mode here, scurrying round like his wife’s security as she sweeps into the venue like the total star. The way Harry rushes round the side of the car to join his wife as she is climbing out suggests he sees their arrival as something of a double act.”
However, according to the body language expert, Meghan didn’t consider their appearance to be a double act, instead acting like the “total star”.
Judi said: “His (Harry’s) expression looks focused and serious as he pulls at the sides of his jacket in a gesture of anxiety. Meghan ignores her husband though, despite the fact that his hand is raised to touch her.
“Meghan has both her hands raised in an intentional gesture aimed at showing her host her intention to greet with an air kiss and hug.
“The ignore seems to leave Harry in a small body language quandary. His eyes drop and he decides to fiddle with the back of his pants to avoid being left hanging. There is no moving to introduce Harry to the host after hugging her here, Meghan just turns and strides ahead into the venue leaving Harry waving one hand out in the air as he follows behind her.”
Prince Harry was believed to have travelled to New York with his wife to support her as she spoke at the Time100 Summit.
The Duchess revealed in her chat with Jessica Sibley, the chief executive officer of Time, that she is the happiest she has ever been.
Meghan explained: “To have a partner and a husband who is so supportive and have healthy kids who are so joyful … I never would have imagined at this point I would feel so happy and grateful, and I really do.”
