SALINE TWP., MI — Despite local officials’ opposition, a controversial plan to build a 2.2-million-square-foot data center on farmland may still happen. A rural community in southeast Washtenaw County is looking to settle a lawsuit recently filed by a development firm working for an unidentified tech giant.
The Saline Township Board of Trustees voted 4-1 Wednesday, Oct. 1, to pursue a settlement with Dallas-based development firm Related Digital and three sets of landowners. Their vote authorizes a consent judgment that would allow the data center to move forward on a series of conditions.
