Cole Escola’s award-winning Broadway comedy Oh, Mary! will make its UK debut at London’s Trafalgar Theatre this winter.

Direct from Broadway, Oh, Mary! will play a strictly limited season at the Trafalgar Theatre from 3 December 2025 to 25 April 2026.

Mason Alexander Park (Cabaret) is set to star as Mary Todd Lincoln, with Olivier Award winner Giles Terera (Hamilton, Othello) playing Mary’s Husband, Abraham Lincoln.

Rounding out the cast are Kate O’Donnell (Big Girl’s Blouse) as Mary’s Chaperone, Louise; Oliver Stockley (Cabaret) as Mary’s Husband’s Assistant, Simon; and Dino Fetscher (The Normal Heart, Netflix’s Fool Me Once) as Mary’s Teacher.

The West End premiere is helmed by Sam Pinkleton, who won the Tony Award for Best Direction of a Play for the Broadway production.

Described as “the funniest play in years” (Time Out New York) and “a work of deranged beauty” (New York Magazine), Oh, Mary! blends history, heartbreak, and full-blown camp with riotous results!

The comedy centres on a miserable, suffocated Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. Unrequited yearning, booze, and suppressed desires abound in this 80-minute one-act play that examines the forgotten life and dreams of Mrs. Lincoln, through the lens of an idiot (playwright Cole Escola).

First staged in New York in 2024, Oh, Mary! became an instant critical and commercial hit. The Broadway production earned widespread acclaim, winning two Tony Awards – Best Leading Actor in a Play for Cole Escola and Best Direction of a Play for Sam Pinkleton, along with multiple Drama League Awards. It was also named a Pulitzer Prize finalist.

On Broadway, the show is currently headlined by Hannah Solow, with theatre and TV star Jane Krakowski announced to take on the role for eight weeks this autumn on Broadway, alongside Cheyenne Jackson and John-Andrew Morrison. The show has seen a rotating cast of celebrities and actors take on the roles.

The full creative team includes dots (Scenic Designer), Holly Pierson (Costume Designer), Cha See (Lighting Designer), Daniel Kluger (Sound Design and Music), Drew Levy (Sound Designer), Leah J. Loukas (Wig Designer) and David Dabbon (Arrangements), with Casting by Stuart Burt CDG.

The Trafalgar Theatre run in the West End will mark the play’s first international transfer, with demand for tickets expected to be high following its record-breaking success on Broadway.

The executive producers of Oh, Mary! in London are Wessex Grove.

Oh, Mary! runs in London from 3 December 2025 to 25 April 2026.
