Buses will replace trains on a Welsh train line for a second weekend in a row. The affected services will be between Swansea and Carmarthen, Milford Haven, and Pembroke Dock. It will be in place on Saturday, October 4, and Sunday, October 5. It is a result of engineering work taking place between Llanelli and Carmarthen closing all lines.

The routes affected are the Great Western Railway service between London Paddington and Carmarthen affecting routes between Manchester Piccadilly and Milford Haven, between Hereford and Fishguard Harbour, and between Cardiff Central and Milford Haven.

Routes will also be affected between Newport and Milford Haven and also between Swansea and Haverford West, Pembroke Dock, and Fishguard Harbour.

National Rail has issued the following advice for individual train operators.

No trains will run between Swansea and Carmarthen.

You can use Transport for Wales replacement buses at no extra cost.

Sunday

Buses will replace trains between Swansea and Carmarthen.

National Rail states: “This vital work will maintain the continued safe and reliable running of train services for years to come.”

It advises people to plan their journey through its journey planner.

It adds: “Please be advised that replacement vehicles may be busier than usual.

“You should allow extra time for your journey.”
