The latest from Partners& as they expand into Bristol and the SW;

Partners&, the award-winning insurance advisory business, is launching in Bristol. As the gateway to the South West, the move is in line with its ambitious growth strategy aimed at bringing its distinctive proposition to key sectors of the economy, including digital, technology, life sciences, construction, natural resources and the creative industries.

Partners& has invested in a state-of-the-art premises at The Crescent in Temple Back to benefit from all that being in the heart of the city brings. It will serve as the company’s South West hub which is home to 30 colleagues in Bristol and more than 200 employees across the region.

It has also recruited two risk protection advisers who will be based in the Bristol office. Chris Hill, formerly with Birchin Insurance Brokers has joined to provide specialist advice on professional indemnity insurance, a critical cover for those operating in professional services. Jamie Palmer, formerly with Gallagher, will be a driving force in the team and brings a track record for exceptional client service and understanding of commercial clients’ needs.

Founded in April 2020, Partners& was created to provide a “next generation” standard of advice and service to clients, calling attention to what it believed to be 21st century risks that many businesses and their advisers fail to address, including cyber, management liability and people-related risks. Core to its proposition is the notion of partnership, and its stated mission is to collaborate with clients, eco-system partners and insurers to build resilience for clients enabling them to navigate a complex and everchanging world, and achieve their ambitions.

Sustainability is a key pillar of the Partners& strategy, and the building’s net zero credentials and focus on wellbeing were key factors in selecting it to be the Group’s South West hub. The building’s proximity to the train station at Temple Meads supports encouraging colleagues to travel by public transportation or walk or cycle to work.

Phil Barton, Group CEO, said: “Bristol is close to the hearts of many of our colleagues – we started our careers here. So, in many ways, it feels like we’re coming home. It’s also a thriving city, with many of the growth sectors that align with our expertise – from professional services, haulage and logistics and construction to life sciences and the healthcare sector including care homes and GP surgeries. We wanted to be in the heart of the city and become active members in the thriving Bristol business community.

“We’re excited to bring our class-leading proposition to Bristol. Too many businesses are underserved by their insurance advisers – what we hear from new clients time and again is that they don’t understand their insurances. That’s where we’re different – we make it our mission to gain a deep understanding of our clients and their challenges, so that we can work in collaboration to develop a solution that is appropriate to them. More than anything, we care about our clients and are skilled in insuring that that their risk and benefits programme is aligned to their goals.

“The Crescent is a fantastic location for our people – it’s well appointed, is a lovely working environment and will serve as a meeting point for our people and their clients in Bristol.”

For the second year in a row, Partners& is co-sponsor (along with Michelmores and PWC) of TheBusinessDesk South West Business of the Year awards which will take place on 13 November at the Bristol Harbour Hotel.

 Partners& moved into their new premises on 29 September 2025.
