Royal enthusiasts have criticized Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for focusing on an “insignificant” detail in their tribute to the late Dr. Jane Goodall.

The renowned UN Messenger of Peace and founder of the Jane Goodall Institute, Dr. Jane Goodall DBE, passed away on October 1. Celebrities worldwide, including Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, have been paying their respects.

Jane, who was a talented primatologist and critic of President Donald Trump, died at the age of 91 due to natural causes. In Prince Harry and Meghan’s tribute post, they wrote, “Dr. Jane Goodall DBE was a visionary humanitarian, scientist, friend to the planet, and friend to us.”

The message continued, “Her commitment to changing lives extends beyond what the world saw, and also to what we personally felt. She held our son, Archie, when he was first born, and showered love and care to those who were privileged to know her. She will be deeply missed.”

However, fans are upset that the Sussexes overlooked her humanitarian work and instead highlighted Dr. Goodall’s interaction with their son, Archie.

One individual commented, “Typical of them to make the passing of an accomplished lady about them!”

The Sussexes had previously welcomed Dame Jane to their residence at Frogmore Cottage in 2019, where she had the opportunity to hold their newborn son Archie, who was just five weeks old at the time.

The Prince of Wales also expressed how she personally inspired him and “her boundless curiosity, compassion and pioneering spirit transformed our understanding of the natural world.”

Prince William mourned the loss of “the world has lost an extraordinary voice” in a post on X, stating, “She challenged us all to make a difference and inspired me and countless others to work to protect our planet. Jane Goodall made a difference.”
