Sheffield Wednesday are back at Hillsborough on Saturday as they welcome Coventry City in the final game before the October international break.
Sheffield Wednesday sit 23rd in the Championship table coming into the clash with Coventry City this weekend. However, recent displays have given the SWFC something to be proud of.
Uncertainty over the club’s future lingers as Dejphon Chansiri clings onto control at Hillsborough. Further protests will take place to force change, but Henrik Pedersen and his limited squad are fighting valiantly against the odds.

The Owls are actually unbeaten in three Championship games. Their away win over Portsmouth was followed up by a goalless draw against QPR, before they were cruelly denied three points at the death against Birmingham City, drawing 2-2.
Coventry City come into the Sheffield Wednesday tie in a very different position. Frank Lampard’s side are unbeaten in the Championship with four wins and four draws, scoring a massive 22 goals in the process.
The Sky Blues are quickly emerging as genuine automatic promotion contenders.

In the wake of the midweek draw against Birmingham City, Sheffield Wednesday boss Pedersen confirmed Barry Bannan only withdrew from the action due to cramp. Liam Palmer was struggling too, but both are expected to be fit here.
Bannan has been in fine form, registering two goals and two assists while playing a leading role in midfield.

Other injury issues persist for SWFC, unfortunately. It is said that none of the sidelined players are expected to return in time for the Coventry City clash.
Di’Shon Bernard, Pierce Charles, Olaf Kobacki and youngster Reece Johnson all remain in the treatment room. Nathaniel Chalobah is also out, but he could be back in full training in the coming weeks after making progress.

Despite another mammoth midweek effort, the Sheffield Wednesday lineup could be largely unchanged.
Ethan Horvath continues in goal with Dominic Iorfa, Max Lowe, and September’s player of the month Ernie Weaver in front of him. The teenage defender has thoroughly impressed in his breakthrough, drawing Premier League attention.
Palmer starts on the right with Yan Valery tucking in alongside captain Bannan and Svante Ingelsson. Harry Amass has hit the ground running on loan from Manchester United and will start again too.
Up top, midweek scorer Jamal Lowe should start and he’ll be joined by the emerging George Brown.

The likes of Gabriel Otegbayo, Charlie McNeill, Bailey Cadamarteri and Ike Ugbo may hope for starts if SWFC rotate. If not through, they’ll be on hand to impact off the bench.
