What happens if a ring gets stuck on your finger? You either use a number of different lubricants to help it slide right off but if that doesn’t work, there’s always the option of cutting the ring altogether.

That can’t work on something with a battery, though, which is why this Galaxy Ring user is in a nightmare scenario because the ring is now stuck on their finger with a swollen battery.

It’s not a widespread issue with the Galaxy Ring, though

@ZONEofTECH has posted images on X of their Galaxy Ring stuck on due to a swollen battery. It’s clearly swelled to the point where you can notice a bit of discoloration on the finger.

As if that wasn’t enough, this happened just before boarding a flight, which further limits the options available to try and somehow get the Galaxy Ring off the finger.

Obviously, the concern remains whatever’s causing the battery to swell isn’t serious enough to either ignite the battery altogether, which would end up being a particularly painful experience.

Samsung has reached out to the user through its official X account but what support could they offer at this stage beyond a few reassuring words? Who knows, maybe they have some materials on how to deal with the ring getting stuck on a finger because the battery decided to break the shackles.

It’s worth noting that the Galaxy Ring has been out for a long time now and this isn’t a widespread issue. Be that as it may, even if it’s a one-off, it’s just a reminder of how a smart ring could put you in a spot of bother if it’s just not your day.
