Royal fans have flocked to social media to call for a fan favourite couple to become senior working members of the Firm, despite holding no royal titles.
While they are beloved members of the royal family, Zara and Mike Tindall do not carry out any official work on behalf of the monarchy and have their own careers. However, Princess Anne ’s daughter and her husband do accompany the royals for major events such as Christmas and Royal Ascot.
Zara and Mike seem more than happy with this arrangement, which affords them the chance to live their lives away from the public eye, and to have their own careers that they feel passionately about.

While the Tindalls show no signs of joining the Firm in more senior roles, royal fans have expressed their wishes for them to be more prominent members of the royal family, especially during the new era of a slimmed-down monarchy.
One fan wrote on X: “Please offer these two jobs as working royals. Surely, they would be great representatives. The British Royal Family is in desperate need of a boost to support our beautiful future King and Queen.”
Another said: “Such a lovely, loving, fun, underrated couple. They would absolutely be a refreshing, hardworking and respectful working royal couple. Perfect for Prince William ’s future monarchy.”
Someone else wrote: “They would be brilliant but they seem to have worked out a perfect life for themselves and their lovely family,” while another quipped: “I think they’d be great.”
Despite the calls from royal fans, Zara and Mike Tindall are unlikely to take on working royal roles, as Zara has previously expressed how grateful she is to her mother for not giving her or her brother, Peter Phillips, royal titles.
Zara, who is the daughter of Princess Anne, does not hold any royal titles
Speaking previously on the Total Sport podcast with Rob Burrows, Zara said: “From my point of view, I was obviously very lucky that my mother didn’t give us any titles so I really commend her on that.
“We were very lucky that we got to do it a bit our own way. My family has a great work ethic as well which I’m hoping they instilled in me and is still going to this day.”
Despite this, Zara has long been tipped to be handed a key responsibility when William becomes King, as a well-placed source revealed that one job William is keen to delegate when he becomes King is the racing responsibilities, and could hand them off to his cousin.
Zara may take up the reins of the royal racing calendar, given that it is a role Prince William has “never felt comfortable with”. The royal source told The Times : “I never get the feeling the whole top hat and racing is really his thing, and he’s said as much. He’s never really seemed comfortable doing it.”
She works as the director at Cheltenham Racecourse after being appointed to the role in 2020, after her decades of work as a professional equestrian. She is also a racehorse owner and won a silver medal in the London 2012 Olympics in equestrian where she was awarded her medal by Princess Anne.
Former England rugby union captain Mike built his own sporting career, and also appeared on I’m a Celebrity in 2022. The Tindalls live in a converted farmhouse with their three children, located on Princess Anne’s estate, Gatcombe Park, in Gloucestershire.
