Michael McIlorum has had a major leadership role at Hull KR in 2025.
Micky McIlorum has not been selected for Hull KR in their play-off clash against St Helens. The Robins hooker has not beat the race against time to feature in the contest after trying to recover from an ankle injury.
The veteran, who will retire at the end of the season, has trained this week but it has been decided he is not fit enough to feature, meaning Jez Litten will start the game.
The other major team news is the decision to play Oliver Gildart at centre over Jack Broadbent, who is named on the bench. Gildart returned to action from a four-month lay-off two games ago and has been given the nod to partner returning winger Joe Burgess on the left edge.
The person to miss out on selection is Kelepi Tanginoa, with the forward named at 18th man. Sam Luckley is on the bench alongside Rhyse Martin and Jai Whitbread, with Dean Hadley starting the game in the back-row.
Meanwhile, St Helens have suffered another significant blow with centre Mark Percival ruled out of the game, despite being named in the 21-man squad. Saints are already without Kyle Feldt and Owen Dagnall in the outside backs and without Percival, Matt Whitley is moved into centre. Last week’s matchwinner, Shane Wright, is in the back-row, with Noah Stephens drafted into the side.
