Prince Harry abandoned his Royal duties in 2020, departing his official responsibilities in the UK as he relocated to California. Yet it wasn’t merely palaces, Royal engagements, and his HRH status that he abandoned.

Following their move to America, Harry and his spouse, Meghan Markle, unleashed a barrage of explosive claims about the Royal Family, initially in their 2021 sit-down with Oprah Winfrey, then through their 2022 Netflix documentary series Harry and Meghan.

Harry escalated matters further in 2023 by releasing his explosive tell-all memoir Spare, deepening the already fractured relationship with his brother, Prince William. It comes as an expert claimed that Prince Harry’s rivalry with Prince William can be traced back to a ‘simple’ childhood incident.

This fracture has now cost Harry an unofficial Royal position – his status as the “fun” uncle to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Though Harry fulfilled the “fun uncle” role for years, this chapter has now closed, with the duke reportedly maintaining minimal, if any, connection with his niece and nephews.

His position appears to have transferred to Mike Tindall, who reportedly enjoys considerable time with William’s children, alongside his spouse, Zara Tindall, Prince William’s cousin.

Body language specialist Judi James previously revealed to Fabulous magazine the extent of Mike’s positive influence on Prince George, 12 – William’s eldest child.

She explained: “George’s original ‘fun uncle’ and adult playmate did that infamous bolt to the US, leaving a huge Harry-shaped gap in the young boy’s life that Mike has more than filled.”

She added: “Mike is the fun uncle everyone needs, but in the case of Prince George, whose destiny is all about duty and responsible behaviour, Mike’s presence in his life is completely invaluable.”

Though Mike and Zara, William’s cousin, aren’t working royals, they’re thought to maintain a strong relationship with William and Kate.

Their three kids are also believed to share a close bond with George, Charlotte and Louis, with the youngsters frequently spotted in conversation during the annual Christmas Day walk near Sandringham.

Whether Harry continues to communicate with his niece or nephews, or sends them cards or presents for special occasions, remains unclear.
