A neighbourhood in a seaside town near Bristol is the cheapest place to buy a home in the area. Homes in the Uphill area of Weston-super-Mare, the BS23 postcode area, sold for an average of £246,476 each in the 12 months to the end of July.

That’s less than any postcode area in our city with at least 20 sales over the last year. Kewstoke, a village in North Somerset, is the next cheapest place in the region to buy a home.

Houses sold for £288,960 each on average in the BS22 postcode area. That’s followed by BS11 (Avonmouth) where an average home sold for £295,327, BS13 (Bedminster Down) with an average selling price of £298,502 and BS24 (Bleadon) with an average price of £303,500.

On the other hand, Coombe Dingle near Blaise Castle had the highest average sale price of any postcode area in Bristol to have had at least 50 sales over the last 12 months. Houses sold for an average of £628,648 in the BS9 postcode area.

The BS41 area, which covers Long Ashton in North Somerset, was the next most expensive place to buy a home in the area. The average home in Long Ashton sold for an average of £597,716 last year.

That’s followed by BS8 (Clifton) with an average home selling for £588,667, BS6 (Redland) with an average home selling for £546,833 and BS40 (Chew Valley) with an average home selling for £529,860.
