Prominent Cornish agency Lang Llewellyn & Co has announced the acquisition of Parkes & Pearn, strengthening its position across the county and expanding its reach into East Cornwall.

Parkes & Pearn will continue to operate from its Liskeard office under its existing brand, with its full team retained. The move adds an experienced branch with a strong lettings portfolio and respected sales division to Lang Llewellyn & Co’s growing group.

Joel Mitchell will continue as branch manager overseeing lettings, while sales will be supported by Lang Llewellyn & Co directors Sophie Lang, Rhiannon Llewellyn and Charlotte Rayner, who together bring over five decades of combined experience across agency operations, compliance, and client service.

Lang, co-founder of Lang Llewellyn & Co, says: “We’re building a network of strong, locally trusted brands underpinned by shared infrastructure, compliance expertise and marketing support. Parkes & Pearn is an excellent fit for that model — a values-led business with a loyal client base and a brilliant team.”

The acquisition is part of Lang Llewellyn & Co’s ongoing strategy to grow through partnership with established independent agencies, offering them the benefits of shared systems, training and operational resources while preserving their independence and local reputation.

Lang Llewellyn & Co is an independent estate and lettings agency headquartered in Cornwall. Founded by Sophie Lang and Rhiannon Llewellyn, the firm has built its reputation on professional standards, local expertise and scalable systems that empower independent teams. Its network now covers key Cornish towns and continues to expand through targeted growth and strategic partnerships.

Meanwhile Fine & Country has launched a Mid West Cornwall licence, covering large swathes of both the north and south coastlines of the county.

The directors will be John Holman and Mark Willson, with newly appointed associate James Shead and general manager Harriette Thompson driving the business day to day.

Holman says: “The opportunity to expand into a wider area with Fine & Country was too good to miss. We already run a very well-established estate agency with enormous knowledge and experience of the upper quartile market in our area. Combining this expertise with Fine & Country’s marketing power is a very strong proposition.”

Wilson adds: “In this part of the market, we work with a diverse mix of buyers and sellers – high net worth individuals and business owners, lawyers, those successful in finance and banking, people from entertainment, and retirees. It’s an incredibly dynamic sector, and Cornwall’s natural beauty and lifestyle continue to attract buyers not only from across the UK but from overseas as well.”

The region includes some of Cornwall’s best-known destinations, with Falmouth, Truro, Newquay, Rock, Padstow, Port Isaac and St Mawes all within its reach.

Jonathan Handford, interim managing director of Fine & Country UK, comments: “Fine & Country already has an established and highly experienced network of offices across the South West of England. The addition of our Mid West Cornwall team further strengthens this operation, ensuring that our premium service and international reach are available to even more clients in this unique and highly desirable market.”
