With the weather now firmly pointing towards the direction of autumn, there’s one thing that might be on many of our minds more so than ever this year: food.

The colder nights, darker mornings and all-round cosiness of this time of year often means that the opportunity to stock up on a hearty meal will not go ignored. And, of course, there’s one meal in particular that tends to hit the spot.

When it comes to a roast dinner, there’s plenty to admire. Whether it’s a plate load of fresh and seasonal vegetables, endless variations of potatoes, and lashings of gravy, a roast can be a real crowd pleaser.

Thankfully, across Greater Manchester, we’re not without a wide choice of places to go for a Sunday roast or carvery. But, let’s be honest, we’re not all lucky enough to be privy to the crème de la crème of them all.

That’s why we’re turning to you to share your closely-guarded secrets when it comes to the best places across the city-region for a roast dinner. Whether it’s a pub, a fine dining restaurant, or a surprise spot like a café or a garden centre, we want to hear them all.

They don’t all have to be fancy, either. We want to hear why they’re special and what makes them stand out amongst the rest – whether it’s the unique setting of the venue, the best staff, or a particularly great Yorkshire pudding.

Fill out your suggestions in oru form below to let us know which places you’re currently praising when it comes to a roast dinner. But, be quick, we’ll be closing the form in just a couple of days and we’ll be sharing the results in a round-up very soon.

In the past, we’ve shared your recommendations when it comes to everything from the best place to live to the best fish and chips in Greater Manchester. Our recent chippy poll identified spots in the likes of Middleton, Moston and Woodley as amongst your favourites.

We’ve also put together your top suggestions when it comes to the best South Asian eating spots, with venues in Levenshulme, the city centre and Altrincham all getting a lot of votes. One place was also hailed by one reader as the ‘most welcoming Indian restaurant in Greater Manchester’, which is high praise indeed.

Share your top roast dinner finds above and they could make it into the list highlighting the very best. And, as ever, we sadly won’t be accepting suggestions of a friend’s or family’s house. As much as we’re sure they’re top level with their Sunday roasts, they perhaps would not want thousands of readers turning up on their door at 12pm.
