Warrington Wolves have confirmed their fourth signing ahead of the 2026 season with another overseas player arriving at the club.

So far all the enforcement at Wire have been in the forward pack with Liam Byrne signing from Wigan Warriors, Tevita Pangai Jr from Catalans Dragons, and Toafofoa Sipley from Manly Sea Eagles.

However, Warrington have mow added a back and it’s another NRL addition with Albert Hopoate signing from Canberra Raiders, as has been previously reported.

The 24-year-old centre has featured prominently in both the NRL and the NSW Cup, scoring tries at a good rate in both comps, with a total of 26 in 73.

That includes his 14 in 31 in the New South Wales Cup, a competition where he was named Player of the Year in 2024.

One worry is that he played just once 2025 campaign for Canberra due to an injury-hit season but Warrington have put fans minds at ease by noting that Hopoate has undergone an “independent and rigorous medical assessment”, with the 24-year-old set to join the Wolves for pre-season next month.

News of his signing was confirmed by a club statement which read: “Warrington Wolves is delighted to announce the signing of Albert Hopoate on a two-year contract from the Canberra Raiders.”

Speaking on the move, Hopoate said: “I feel blessed for the opportunity to join Warrington and it’s a move myself and my family are really excited about.

“After a difficult season this year I’m looking forward now to getting back playing and enjoying my footy. I believe my best years are coming up in front of me now.

“I’m excited to get over, meet my new teammates and the fans, and experience what Super League is all about.

“It’s a fresh challenge and one I’m ready to embrace.”

Head coach Sam Burgess added: “Albert is a great signing for us here at Warrington. We’re looking forward to welcoming him into our group and for him to develop his game over here in Super League.”
