An investigation is underway after a man was pushed onto the train tracks at Liverpool Lime Street station on Tuesday evening (October 7). The incident occurred shortly after 5pm on the Wirral line platform, where the victim was walking with two friends. As the group moved along the platform, an unknown male approached and pushed the man onto the tracks.

Emergency services were called to the scene, and the victim was assisted back onto the platform by quick-thinking members of the public. He was later taken to hospital.

Fortunately, police say there are currently no reports of serious injuries.

British Transport Police (BTP) are now appealing for information and have released an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident. The suspect left the station before officers arrived.

CCTV footage and witness statements are being gathered as part of the ongoing investigation.
