In the weeks now leading up to Christmas, we would like to appeal for any unwanted, used or old football kits, football coats, training jackets, hats and scarves to be handed to the club and we will ensure that they are safely delivered to children in war torn Ukraine.

We have several players at the club who have been displaced from Ukraine and are re-building their lives here in the Nantwich area.

We are working with local Willaston resident, Carl Oakes, who has undertaken 6 aid trips to the Ukraine over the last 12 months, to ensure the safe delivery of the items we collect.

Carl noted:

“At this time of year it’s important that we don’t forget that there are thousands of children in Ukraine without access to kits to play the game that so many in our local area enjoy.

If we can come together as a community with our football club at its heart, then we can make a huge difference to families in Ukraine.”

The appeal goes out to any family who has spare and available football kits but also for all local grassroot teams or schools to provide any of last years kits or football attire.

Tracey Humphries, Fundraising and Events co-ordinator at Nantwich Town said:

“We host a coffee morning every Friday at the club between 9-12 and we will be there to receive any donations up until Christmas. Please feel free to join us for a drink and a biscuit and we can share with you our plans for ensuring the football kits are delivered safely to the footballers of Ukraine and the exciting events we have planned for Dabbers in the Community.”
