Inspector Copeland of Police Scotland told the committee on Tuesday Eroglu was ‘no longer a fit and proper person’ and felt due to the nature of the incident he should no longer hold a licence.
He told members: “On November 7, 2023, at a takeaway in St Andrews he stabbed the victim several times with a knife. He was found guilty in July and sentenced to 42 months in August. Due to the incident, which involved a weapon, he is no longer fit to hold a licence.”
No further questions were raised, and the committee felt it was an ‘open and shut’ case.
