A man was rescued by fellow passengers after being pushed on to railway tracks by an unknown attacker.

The victim had been walking along the underground platform to the Wirral Line at Liverpool Lime Street station with a friend when he was reportedly pushed at about 17:00 BST on Tuesday 7 October.

British Transport Police (BTP) officers were called to the station but the attacker had left by the time they arrived.

The force has released CCTV images of a man detectives want to speak to in connection with the attack.
