After losing three games in a row, everyone associated with Liverpool does not really know what is going on.

The Reds are not exactly playing like the reigning champions right now, with the international break perhaps coming at a very good time.

There are big problems all over the pitch for Arne Slot to address, with this being his chance to further prove just how good a manager he really is.

For the players, a lot of them can also do their manager a favour by stepping up, proving to him that they should be in the starting XI each week.

There is also one in particular who is fighting for his place in the side, but Ben Foster reckons that he is struggling to impress due to being confused.

A lot of change has occurred over the summer, with this being a lot to process for anyone, let alone a player who knows he is losing his spot in the team.

But this is what Andy Robertson has had to do, and he has done so with the highest level of professionalism, with the vice-captain truly leading by example.

However, he has struggled for game time and when he has got the chance, like Chelsea last Saturday, he has struggled to perform, with Estevao’s last-minute winner a result of the Scotsman losing his man.

Foster believes that it must not be easy for Robertson, though, given the summer he has had, with the former Man United goalkeeper thinking he looks confused.

“Andy Robertson is 31 years old right, and I think there’s so much up in the air about him at the minute, but it’s because somebody’s come in and taken his place, he doesn’t really know whether to come or go at the minute,” he said on the Football Fill-In.

“He nearly got a move in the summer to Atletico Madrid, so I think he’s a bit all over the shop.

If they said ‘right Andy, you’re going to be the one that’s going to be starting for the next month for the next two months or so’ I think you’ll see the best Andy Robertson back again.”

Arne Slot seems to prefer Milos Kerkez

Liverpool have played 11 games so far in all competitions, including the Community Shield, and Milos Kerkez is the only player to have featured in all of them.

This suggests Kerkez is vital to Slot’s plan and that Robertson is very much second-choice, with it being near-impossible that he will get the run of games Foster is suggesting he needs.

So with that said, the Scotsman will have to settle for being a bit-part player, something he has never had to do before, and step up when Slot calls upon him at times of need.

With less than a year left on his contract, it seems unlikely that he will want to sign a new deal given his reduced role, suggesting that Liverpool fans need to savour every moment as this could be his last dance.
