Manchester United are closing in on one signing and have a potential target in mind for midfield.
Fans used to Manchester United leaving transfers to the last minute are having to make a few adjustments, with Ineos planning to get deals done early.
After an awful Premier League season, Manchester United want to lay a marker down and make signings very quickly.
One key target is Wolves forward Matheus Cunha, with the Red Devils optimistic of a deal and even having a broad agreement with the player over a move.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the situation, speaking via his YouTube channel.

Romano explains that the versatile Wolves forward is expected to become Manchester United’s first major signing of the summer.
“Manchester United are making progress on a daily basis on the Matheus Cunha deal, Very positive conversations.
“Manchester United management, Ruben Amorim, who is fully involved in this process, they are all looking in the same direction.”
“The Champions League is not deal breaker for the player,” he adds.
“Matheus Cunha is still ready to accept the proposal from Manchester United. They need more, at least one more meeting to fix some details. But my understanding is that me United want to make it happen as soon as possible.”
Romano did not offer any guarantees in terms of timeframe, but added: “I don’t expect Cunha to be a long saga, a deal for end of July, August, deadline day and all this sort. I think the Cunha deal will happen quite soon if all goes to plan.
“The conversation is very advanced, and the United are prepared to pay the £62.5 million pounds clause in installments, and so are ready to approach Wolves and find a solution.”
On Liam Delap
In terms of striker, Romano backs reports that Manchester United are pursuing Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap
He cited technical director Jason Wilcox as key, adding: “He wanted to sign him for Southampton, he had him in Manchester City academy in the past.
“For Manchester United he is very high on the list, he is a strong option.”

Manchester United need to make additions in midfield with Christian Eriksen set to leave, although player sales will determine spending power, beyond the potential Cunha and Delap additions.
Romano reports Atalanta midfielder Ederson is Manchester United’s ‘dream target’ at the position.
“There is a player they discuss internally. Is an eventual dream target for Manchester United, because could be quite expensive. And this is Ederson from Atlanta, a wonderful midfielder we know very well here in Serie A.”
The defensive midfielder could become a replacement for Casemiro if United are able to move the veteran Brazil international on this summer.
Adding a specialised defensive player like Ederson will continue to enable Kobbie Mainoo to be versatile in terms of his positioning.
Romano added: “He’s a player they really, really like, but they also know how tough it is to negotiate with Atalanta. So he’s not an easy one.
“It’s not something to do now or next week or in two weeks like Cunha. So he’s a completely different sort of story.”
