An investigation is underway after a pupil brought a knife in to a primary school in Birmingham.

A letter was sent to parents and carers of children at Paget Primary School in Pype Hayes after the child brought the blade in and showed it to their classmates on Tuesday (October 7).

The acting headteacher Lisa Dodd said a probe was immediately launched as soon as they learned of the incident and asked for the community not to speculate.

No children were harmed, but those affected are being given ‘appropriate support’, she said.
