Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that one of Ruben Amorim’s forgotten first-team Manchester United players will make an exit from Old Trafford in 2026.

The 32-year-old Italian transfer reporter insisted that it is “100 per cent” expected that the Manchester United star in question will not sign a new deal with the club.

Ruben Amorim and his men will return to Premier League action next week and the Red Devils face a tough test against defending champions Liverpool at Anfield.

The Red Devils have some momentum on their side ahead of the showdown at Anfield on 19th October after United’s 2-0 win over Sunderland at Old Trafford.

United hosted Sunderland for their final match ahead of the October international break and both Mason Mount and Benjamin Sesko netted for the Red Devils.

Tyrell Malacia returned to the Manchester United first-team squad in September after he failed to make a move away from Old Trafford in the summer.

The 26-year-old Dutch left-back had been training with the Manchester United Under-21s ahead of being brought back into the fold under Ruben Amorim.

Despite his return to United first-team training last month, Tyrell Malacia did not make the squad for the Red Devils’ 2-0 win against Sunderland last Saturday.

Malacia is out of contract with United in 2026 and Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that the Dutchman will not sign a new deal and will leave Old Trafford.

“Tyrell Malacia, despite returning in training with the first team of Manchester United after a crazy window where he had several opportunities,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.

“Tyrell Malacia is not going to sign any new contract at United and, in any case, he will leave the club for sure, 100 per cent, in 2026.”

Tyrell Malacia’s turbulent Man Utd spell took a surprising turn over the 2025 summer transfer window

Tyrell Malacia had been deemed surplus to requirements under United manager Amorim and was allowed to leave Old Trafford in the summer transfer window.

The United left-back had returned to the Premier League club in July after Malacia’s loan deal with Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven had expired in June.

PSV Eindhoven signed Malacia back in February and the former Netherlands international underwhelmed with his loan spell at the Eredivisie side.

Elche had been linked with Malacia in the summer and came close to signing the United player on loan, but the move collapsed ahead of the summer window closing.

United were also unable to secure a loan move away for the former PSV and Feyenoord player to clubs in either Saudi Arabia or Turkey in September.

Malacia’s failure to leave Old Trafford in the summer led to the Red Devils including the ex-Netherlands defender in their 25-man Premier League squad for this season.
