Pen Underwriting, a specialist underwriting agency in the UK, has appointed Lorraine Malcolm as Senior Underwriter for Scotland within its Commercial Risk Managed team, effective Tuesday, 22nd April.

Based in Glasgow, Malcolm brings over 30 years of extensive experience in commercial underwriting, covering a wide range of property and casualty risks.

Most recently, she held the role of Property & Casualty Manager for Scotland and Northern Ireland at Allianz Insurance. Malcolm’s previous experience also includes serving as a Senior Trading Underwriter at Aviva within its Corporate & Specialty Risk division and a decade-long tenure as a Technical Development Underwriter at Axa.

Throughout her career, Malcolm has built and managed successful commercial insurance portfolios, collaborating closely with brokers and business development teams to deliver customised solutions for complex client risks.

Her expertise spans large, intricate risks, the creation of delegated authority schemes, and offering technical guidance across the underwriting process.
