A 226-day break isn’t necessarily a concern for Lahinch Wave (second choice), who won off an even longer absence on her rules and hurdling debut, but MISS GOLDFIRE has been threatening to gain a first win over hurdles and can cope with this drop back in distance.

Abbey Law needs to step up on her Fakenham win but is clear third choice, while it wouldn’t be a surprise if the selection’s stablemate Neon Madonna improved on her bumper form now she’s up in trip on her hurdles debut.

Most of these have something to prove, but SANGIOVESE (NAP) is unexposed over fences, and he won in good style from off the pace at Huntingdon two weeks ago. A 5lb rise for that success looks fair, and he should have more to offer at staying trips. The main threat could come from the admirable 13yo Uallrightharry, who got back in the groove with a front-running win over 3m3f here in January.

Top of the list is SUNSHINE DIAMOND, who made it 2-3 over hurdles when making all to beat a clear second in a Southwell novice in October.

This 6yo returns from another break, but he looks on a fair mark for his handicap debut and is open to more progress back in trip. Ayr winner Marlacoo should have more to offer back in a handica,p and he’s feared most ahead of Shengai Enki. Others who could be dangerous are Kingston Gent and Up The Straight.

C&D winner Twp Stori would be a player if rain arrived but otherwise DEAR RALPHY looks the one to beat, having finished first and second in two C&D starts on good ground and having also won on soft.

It’s possible to pick holes in the form of the only other previous C&D winner in the field, Tellairsue, but he still looks the main danger to the selection. Drumheller may improve now, stepped up in trip on his handicap debut, and he looks best of the others.

The 5yos Fortunate Fella and Ceejaybe (second choice) have something to recommend them, while King Of The Story should take a step forward from his recent return, but a chance is taken that TEDWIN HILLS can put in a clear round of jumping and atone for his Ffos Las blunder.

Decorated (second choice) is doing better since reverting to hurdles and should go well, while handicap debutant My Cullen and Simon The Seagull, from an in-form yard, warrant respect. However, ALRIGHT DAI was going places when last seen and can resume his progress on this return from a break. Market moves for Midnight Jewel or Red Windsor, particularly the latter, would bring them into calculations.
