Princess Kate made a surprising comment about Prince George’s upcoming move to secondary school during a solo engagement on Thursday. The Princess of Wales, 43, visited the charity Home-Start Oxford to learn about its work in supporting parents to manage juggling work, finances and creating loving homes for their families.

As well as joining in with various activities, the princess spoke to charity workers, parents and children during her visit. While she tried to keep the conversation as much as possible on other parents, she was asked about her own children Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven.

Reflecting on how grown up they are now, Kate addressed how George, who is second-in-line to the throne, is soon set to face a big change.

The princess told another parent that George is in “his last year” of Lambrook School and would soon be moving up to secondary next year.

This is something that Princess Kate has rarely addressed, with rumours already swirling about where Kate and Prince William are set to send their oldest son for the next stage of his education.

While it is believed a few schools were being considered, including Kate’s former school Marlborough College, it has been widely reported that the parents have decided on sending George to Eton College in September 2026.

This is the prestigious school that Prince William attended and has fond memories of.

The boarding school is also just a short drive from the family’s home in Windsor, which is believed to be important for William and Kate who are hands-on parents.

Princess Kate did not comment any further on George’s move to secondary school next year, and did not name where he would be going.

The choice of secondary school for the prince has not yet been confirmed by Kensington Palace.

It is believed this will happen next year, not long before the move is set to take place.
