Prince William opens up about shocking comment made by tourist about Windsor Castle

Prince William shared a lighthearted story about a tourist’s unexpected comment on Windsor Castle.

During his appearance on Eugene Levy’s The Reluctant Traveler, the 43-year-old Prince of Wales shared a hilarious remark made by a tourist that he is unable to forget and continues to make the Royal family laugh.

In his chat with the 78-year-old Canadian actor and comedian, the Royal noted that the tour guides tend to collect plenty of entertaining stories and funny anecdotes.

“We heard back one time, that, I won’t name the nationality of the tourist, but, they’re looking around the castle going, ‘Wow this place is incredible, but why did they have to build the castle so close to Heathrow airport?'”

William admitted that the family found the comment so amusing, that it is now regarded as sort of number one quote of a tourist going around Windsor Castle.”

Dating back to the 11th century, Windsor Castle was first built by William the Conqueror, with its lavish state apartments introduced centuries later in the early 19th century.

Originally established as a small airfield in 1930, Heathrow Airport went on to become London’s primary airport following World War II.
