A man has died following a road traffic collision in Flintshire. North Wales Police confirmed that they were called to the scene of a crash in Halkyn during the early hours of Saturday morning, October 11.

The single-vehicle crash happened at junction 32 on the eastbound carriage of the A55 and involved a Ford Ranger pick-up. Detective Sergeant Katie Davies of the serious collision investigation unit of North Wales Police said: “Our thoughts remain with the man’s family and friends at this difficult time.

“They will now be supported by a specially trained family liaison officer.

“Our enquiries are underway, and we are urging anybody who may have witnessed the collision and who are yet to speak to us, or anybody who was travelling along the A55 near to the Halkyn area and who may have dash cam footage to contact us as soon as possible.”

According to North Wales Police, the road was closed to allow officers from the forensic collision investigation unit to carry out their initial enquiries. The A55 reopened at around 8.30am on Saturday morning.
