As Strictly Come Dancing gets underway with Movie Week, the celebs were hoping to do their best to impress the judges and avoid the dreaded dance-off.

From routines including the Paso Doble from The Mask of Zorro to a Rumba to No Time To Die from James Bond, the stars were pulling out all the stops.

However, when Tess Daly introduced one couple to the dancefloor, she jibed about their character for the evening.

Tess began: “Our next star is known for her fabulous taste and style and so far this series, she’s had a lot to say about my outfits.

“So I’ve had a few conversations backstage and tonight, for her Mary Poppins Waltz, she’s dressed as the bird woman.”

The host pulled a cheeky face at the camera as La Voix walked on camera dressed as the dishevelled looking character from Mary Poppins.

“I’ll get you back for this Daly,” the Drag Race star told the host.

La Voix and Aljaž Skorjanec performed the Waltz to Feed The Birds (Tuppence A Bag) from Mary Poppins.

They received sevens from all four judges and ended with a total score of 28, which they were thrilled with.

Meanwhile, on Friday, the BBC confirmed Stefan Dennis would not be performing on Saturday’s live show.

The Neighbours icon had been suffering from illness this week and doctors advised him to rest and miss the live performance.

In line with the rules of Strictly, Stefan and Dianne were given a bye through to next week when they will hopefully be able to dance again.

Ahead of the live show, bookmakers had Ross King as the favourite to be eliminated next.

The TV presenter has been dealt a crushing blow as he found himself at 10/11 to be sent packing on Sunday night.

Elsewhere, Chris Robshaw could be in danger at 6/4 for the boot, while Stefan Dennis (8/1) is the only other name priced shorter than 14/1 for an exit this weekend.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “It’s bad news for Ross heading into this weekend’s Strictly… punters reckon he’s next in line for the boot.”
