Five people have been taken to hospital following a crash on in Huyton. At around 2.50pm, police were called out to a report of a collision involving two cars, a grey BMW and a blue Vauxhall, on Roby Road.

The injuries of the five casualties are unknown at this stage. Police remain at the scene and the incident is ongoing. A road closure is in place in both directions. Motorists are advised to avoid the area while emergency services deal with the incident. Anyone who witnessed the collision or captured anything on CCTV or dashcam can contact Merseyside Police on 101 or DM @MerPolCC quoting log 554 of 12 October.
