An award-winning whisky tour company known for its focus on storytelling is now launching in Inverness, with a promise to highlight the Highland Capital’s growing whisky scene.
Once Upon a Whisky, which has run popular walking tours in Glasgow and Edinburgh since 2017, is expanding north to connect visitors with the city’s thriving bar culture and proximity to world-class distilleries.
Founder Camilo Gomez established the company to offer a modern, more accessible alternative to classical whisky tours.
“The Inverness whisky scene is both exciting and impressive,” Mr Gomez commented.

“It is not only a top tourist destination, but also strategically close to many fantastic distilleries. We are incredibly happy and honoured to give visitors the chance to explore the city and its hidden whisky treasures with locals.”
The tours will be based in Inverness city centre and will collaborate with established local venues — including MacGregor’s, The Malt Room and The Wee Bar — focusing on off-the-beaten-track experiences that mix whisky education with local culture.
The expansion comes as the city experiences a booming whisky renaissance. This growth has been fuelled by the recent opening of the Uilebheist distillery, an increase in specialist bars and shops, and significant ongoing investment in nearby long-established sites such as Tomatin and Glen Ord.
