LONDON — The Jets traveled across the Atlantic Ocean but they still could not escape the stench of their 2025 season.
The Jets brought their special brand of bad football along with them to the United Kingdom and found a way to lose an ugly 13-11 game to the Broncos.
The Jets are 0-6 for the first time since 2020, and coach Aaron Glenn is the first Jets coach to begin his career with six straight losses.
A week after the Jets defense looked horrible, it was the offense’s turn.
The Jets could get nothing going and failed to score a touchdown for the first time this season.
They finished with 82 total yards, the third-lowest total in franchise history.

They had minus-10 net passing yards, the worst mark in franchise history.
The locals might say the Jets offense was bloody awful.
“It’s unbelievable, unacceptable,” a clearly unhappy Garrett Wilson said.
Quarterback Justin Fields held onto the ball too long repeatedly and was sacked nine times, and the Jets went nearly 28 minutes of game time without a first down to start.
Fields finished 9-of-17 passing for 45 yards.
Despite such a terrible performance, Glenn bristled when asked if he would consider benching Fields next week against the Panthers.
“C’mon, man, what kind of question is that?” Glenn said. “There’s a number of guys. I mean, sometimes this league is like there’s guys that have bad games. That doesn’t mean you just bench them.”

Despite how terribly they played on offense, the Jets had a chance to win this game.
They took an 11-10 lead in the third quarter after a safety.
The Broncos regained the lead with 5:06 left in the game on a Wil Lutz 27-yard field goal.
The Jets had two chances to drive down the field and kick the game-winning field goal but failed.

They went three and out with Fields getting sacked on a third down with just about four minutes left.
The Jets defense, which played well, got the ball back.
They got the ball at their own 43 with 2:23 left.
They moved it to the Broncos 44, but Talanoa Hufanga broke up a third-down pass to Wilson.
On fourth-and-8, Fields was sacked and the game was over.
Glenn could have called for a 62-yard field goal attempt but said Nick Folk’s range was 53 yards.
“Disappointing game,” Glenn said. “I mean, I thought our guys fought their asses off. Obviously wasn’t good enough. It’s tough being close. At some point we’ve got to finish one of these here.”
The Jets defense had a positive game after calling a players-only meeting this week.
They forced their first takeaway of the season on Denver’s first drive when Jarvis Brownlee Jr. caused a fumble that Andre Cisco recovered at the Denver 37.
But the offense did nothing with the chance and they had to settle for the first of three Folk field goals.

“Our passing game was nonexistent,” Glenn said. “That’s something we have to get better at.”
It felt as if the Jets had a chance to do something just before halftime.
They converted a fake punt to get a first down, then had the ball at their 47 for fourth-and-1.
They had about 27 seconds to run a play, but Glenn chose to let the clock expire instead of trying to score.

“I knew we were getting the ball back [to start the second half],” Glenn said. “I think it was like third-and-7 or third-and-8. At that point we didn’t know if we got the first down or not. I know one ref was saying yes and the other one was no. Once it got to fourth down, I’m not about to sit there and try to get a play off, they get the ball back. I think they had a timeout left. Give them a chance to kick a field goal, that’s not the smartest thing to do. End the half, get the ball back, see if we get a chance to score.”
Wilson was visibly upset as he came off the field.
“I just didn’t know exactly what the plan was,” Wilson said. “Once I figured it out, I was disappointed. I’ll just say that.”
The Broncos entered the game leading the league in sacks and they added the nine to their impressive total. It was not all on the offensive line, though, as Fields held onto the ball in many instances.

“I got to get the ball out. They got a good D-line,” Fields said. “They got to the backfield fast. Once you get in that rhythm, you got to go one, two, get the hell up out of there.”
This is the third time in franchise history the Jets have started 0-6.
The others came to open some of the most infamous seasons in Jets history — 1996 (1-15) and 2020 (2-14).

If the Jets want to avoid joining them, they need to turn it around quickly.
“I think we’ve got to truly have like a we’ve got a nothing-to-lose mentality,” Wilson said. “That’s how we feel. It’s got to be obvious. If you’re out there as a player, you should feel like let’s go. I feel like y’all should see that as a fan base watching the team and media. Y’all should be able to tell like we’re playing like we have nothing to lose. I don’t think that was evident today. We’re 0-6 man. Let’s let it fly.”
