Police were called by West Midlands Ambulance Service colleagues to Uplands Road, Handsworth, shortly before 10pm yesterday (Saturday).

It was reported that a 48-year-old man had been found with stab injuries, and he was confirmed dead at the scene a short time later.

Another man, aged 43, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody for questioning.

Police are in touch with the victim’s family and they are being supported by specialist officers.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “At this stage we are not looking for anyone else in connection with what happened.

“A scene remains in place, and local officers will be patrolling the area throughout the day.
