A murder investigation has been launched
A girl and a boy who were tragically found dead in Stafford this morning have been named by police tonight.
Meraj Ul Zahra, aged two, and Abdul Momin Alfaateh, aged three, were both pronounced dead at a property in Corporation Street this morning.
Police had been called to the address by ambulance workers, who had found the children unresponsive with injuries, at around 7.30am, according to Staffordshire Police.

The children’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers.
The force asked the public to respect the family privacy at this difficult time.
A 43-year-old woman, from the Stafford area, who was arrested on suspicion of murder today, remains in custody tonight as investigations continue.

The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) as is routine following earlier police contact.
A police cordon remains in place on Corporation Street tonight.
