The Scottish high street has taken a bit of a hit this year. From permanent closures to retailers disappearing completely, the news can seem a bit pessimistic.

However, Glasgow’s Silverburn seems to be offering a touch of hope right now, with the busy shopping centre announcing multiple new openings recently, including the return of a popular brand.

It was announced today, Monday, October 13, that Footasylum will be making its grand return to Scotland’s leading retail and leisure destination following its closure earlier this year, although the date has not yet been confirmed.

The retailer, which is known for its selection of fashion items and trainers, will takeover a a 9,585 sq. ft, two-storey unit next to New Look, which is set to be larger than its previous offering.

This will mark the fourth Footasylum store for Glasgow shoppers, as the firm also operates one branch on Argyle Street, alongside two other stores in the Braehead Shopping Centre and at Glasgow’s Fort.

First opened in 2005, the high street firm is said to be one of the leading retailers in fashion streetwear and sportswear, offering the latest release from big name brands such as Nike, North face, Under Armour and Adidas to name a few.

Silverburn already offers a vast portfolio of different clothing retailers, with Footasylum joining fellow new brands that have opened this year, such as Hollister, Pull & Bear and Bershka.

David Pierotti, General Manager of Silverburn said: “We’re pleased to welcome back Footasylum and see it expand with a significantly larger unit in Silverburn.

“Its return adds another great dynamic to our already diverse mix of fashion brands and is another strong step forward in our ongoing commitment to offer the very best retail and leisure experience to our guests.”
