Autumn is here, which brings cosy nights, pumpkin picking, hot chocolates, Halloween events, and of course, Bonfire Night. Celebrating both its 25th anniversary and the seasonal event, Manchester Printworks will be hosting a unique and dazzling fireworks display with a difference on Bonfire Night. The free event aims to be an alternative for those looking to avoid large crowds yet enjoy all the excitement of a live show whilst staying warm and dry.

On Wednesday 5th November, the Manchester venue is set to light up the city in spectacular style with a series of digital firework displays alongside family story time sessions hosted by a well-known radio and TV star and live entertainment for all ages. From 5pm to 8pm, Printworks’ digital ceiling – the largest of its kind in Europe – will transform into an immersive masterpiece, recreating the explosive brilliance of real fireworks through vivid, captivating visuals using cutting-edge technology.
Family story time sessions hosted by Katie Thistleton
Families are invited to join the festivities from 5pm, beginning with a sensory-friendly story time session hosted by radio and TV presenter Katie Thistleton (from Radio 1 and formerly CBBC). Each child will receive light-up headphones to enjoy the session in a dedicated chill-out zone. At 5.45pm, Katie will host a second interactive story time for all families, bringing tales to life with a calming soundtrack.

Following the story time, a sensory-friendly firework display will light up Printworks’ award-winning digital ceiling, replacing traditional bangs and crackles with fibre optic wands and dazzling visual effects.
