Hollyoaks aired a sudden twist in the storyline involving Tom Cunningham and Peri Lomax, with their burgeoning romance possibly having an unexpected outcome after a big moment.
Tom returned to the Channel 4 soap in July, though a shock occurred as he was behind bars. He soon found an avenue out, however, after agreeing to help Donny Clark in taking down his arch-nemesis, Clare Devine.

On top of that, Tom began a romance with Peri, but was horrified last week after he discovered that she had slept with Clare. He subsequently decided to leave the village, though Peri convinced him to stay.
Tuesday’s (14 October) episode began with Tom scurrying out of bed, with Peri not looking best pleased. He subsequently expressed his doubts over the relationship to Leela, admitting that he had a fear of “losing her”.

“I just can’t shake the feeling that this was a huge mistake,” he added before leaving the house, though he wasn’t aware that a devastated Peri had caught the tail-end of the conversation.
After, Tom got some dating advice from the returning Carol and Finn, with the latter telling him: “Only regret the things you haven’t done, not the things you have.” Carol spoke to Peri, and said that Tom “adored” her.
Peri then delivered a heartfelt speech to Tom, saying: “When I look back to when we were first dating, I think ‘what was I thinking in letting you go?’ Because I love you… I want you more than anything in the world. It’s always been you.”
She subsequently proposed to him, though didn’t get the answer she was looking for as Tom admitted that he needed some time to think over his decision. With Peri left worried, what will he say?
Elsewhere on the soap, details of the upcoming crossover episode with Brookside have finally been revealed, with Donny making a visit to the famous close before getting an earful from Sheila Grant…
