As experts have pointed out that Meghan Markle was never ready to join the Royal family, royal expert Valentine Low has shed light on some of the “awkward moments” she’s experienced with senior royal aide Jason Knauf.
Knauf was previously an employee for Meghan when she was still a working as a Royal, and was the person who originally reported the Duchess of Sussex to the palace’s HR department for allegedly bullying staff in 2018.
In Low’s biography titled ‘Courtiers,’ he claimed that Meghan deliberately undermined Knauf in a “very public way,” which led to some “awkward moments” for both. This comes as multiple of Meghan’s former employees have shared stories of “mistreatment,” including one instance in which Meghan snapped at a wedding menu caterer ahead of her big day.
The journalist went on to add that before Meghan and Prince Harry jetted off to Australia in 2018, their working relationship with Knauf was already “over,” but the couple continued to legally employed him until March of 2019.
Low recalled that at the time, Meghan had already moved on in a “very public way” and was spotted with her new royal aide Christian Jones. This move was perceived as Meghan’s way of showing the world who her new “golden boy” was.
Low wrote, “It was an astonishing example of how badly their relationship had deteriorated that Meghan did not even trust him to keep a simple confidence.”
Not long after this drama unfolded, Knauf sent an internal email alleging that Meghan had been mistreating the royal staff. In the email blast, he allegedly penned, “I am very concerned that the Duchess was able to bully two PAs out of the household in the past year. The treatment of X was totally unacceptable.”
This email caused a riff between Prince Harry and his brother Prince William as the Prince of Wales was allegedly furious over the news as they are traditionally known for treating their employees “like family.” During their heated discussion, Prince Harry was said to have firmly stood by his wife and defended her actions.
