England star Luke Cowan-Dickie has named his dream Lions XV – and it includes one Wales star.
The hooker was called up for his second British and Irish Lions tour over the summer, and made four appearances during the trip Down Under.
Now, back at Sale Sharks, he sat down to offer up his verdict on who would make his dream team, with Jac Morgan the only Wales star to get the nod. Sign up to Inside Welsh rugby on Substack to get exclusive news stories and insight from behind the scenes in Welsh rugby.
The Ospreys star is currently sidelined having missed the opening three games of the new URC season with a calf issue, but has become the shining light of Welsh rugby recently.
Morgan would end up being the only Welshman left on the tour after countryman Tomos Williams pulled out of the squad with a hamstring injury against the Western Force.
And he was overlooked for a place in the opening Test with the Wallabies, losing out to Tom Curry, who also makes Cowan-Dickie’s dream line-up.
“Tom Curry, without a doubt captain, well he wasn’t captain but he’s in there night and day,” he told Nik Simon in an interview on YouTube.
“My number 8 would be [Jack] Conan and my six would be… I’d have Jac Morgan in there as well. 100 per cent.
“He’s a legend as well.”

Ellis Genge, Dan Sheehan, Tadgh Furlong, Tadgh Beirne and Lions captain Mauro Itoje also all get the nod from the 32-year-old. Get the latest breaking Welsh rugby news stories sent straight to your inbox with our FREE daily newsletter. Sign up here.
“Then at the backs, Jamison Gibson-Park, 10 Finn Russell, 12 Manu Tuilagi…
“Actually no,” he muses.
“Can we go back? 10 would Fordy [George Ford]. 12 would be Manu. 13 would be Henry Slade in his heyday.
“14 Jack Nowell and probably James Lowe 11. No… [Anthony] Watson.”
However, his choice of full-back appeared to be the toughest.
“There’s a few [options].
“Freddy Steward could be in there,” he concludes.
Luke Cowan-Dickie’s ultimate XV: Steward; Nowell, Slade, Tuilagi, Watson; Ford, Gibson-Park; Genge, Sheehan, Furlong; Itoje, Beirne; Morgan, T. Curry, Conan.
