Three men were arrested from address across Birmingham on Wednesday morning on suspicion of terrorism offences.

West Midlands Police said all men were held as part of “pre-planned and “intelligence led” action.

The men are aged between 19 and 29, and are currently being questioned, said the force.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said on October 15: “Three men have been arrested this morning (Wednesday) on suspicion of terrorism offences following a series of warrants at addresses in Birmingham.

“Teams led by Counter Terrorism Policing West Midlands CTU carried out the early morning warrants at eight residential addresses in the Ward End, Saltley and Alum Rock areas.

“The arrests were pre-planned and intelligence-led.

“The men, aged between 19 and 29, have been arrested on suspicion of distributing terrorist material. They have all been taken to a police station in the West Midlands for questioning.”
