Brendan Rodgers has confessed that he wasn’t surprised to see Scott Brown sent off during a Celtic legends’ game.
Brown was shown a straight red card in the game against Feyenoord legends after being deemed to have fouled an opposition player in the box, despite winning the ball.
TV footage showed Brown berating the officials before being given his marching orders as Celtic were beaten 2-1 by the Dutch side.

Rodgers was asked about the decision ahead of Celtic’s game against Dundee this weekend, and admitted that his former midfielder’s competitive streak could also be his Achilles heel.
He told Celtic TV: “I haven’t seen the why, but I could probably imagine that he’s still super competitive, even though he’s been finished playing now for a few years.
“But he will never lose that competitive edge and maybe coming on to going onto foreign soils wasn’t quite the same attitude that maybe they expect over there.
“But a great guy, amazing servant for Celtic and I’m glad to see he’s still got those competitive juices running through him.”
How many red cards did Scott Brown get at Celtic?
Brown always had a reputation for being an aggressive player, but how many red cards did he actually get?
While playing for Celtic, the midfielder was dismissed seven times, with the last of those coming in 2021.
Since then, Brown has evolved into a managerial role and has held a position with Fleetwood Town.
He is currently in charge of Scottish Championship side Ayr United.
