A huge new burger joint landing in the heart of the Baltic Triangle has confirmed its opening date. Marty’s restaurant, which has been teased for months, is set to welcome its first customers within a few days’ time.

The site, which sits opposite BOXPARK Liverpool and the Cains Brewery Village, first put up signage in back in March. Until this month, the team behind it have remained tight-lipped about what to expect. However, owners Sham Saleh and Moss Martin, both 31-years-old and from Old Swan, have confirmed the wait is almost over as they prepare to serve the first set of customers on Friday, October 17.

The opening will see the brand give away 100 smash burgers, £100 cash, £100 voucher and a black card will be given to one customer entitling them for free food for life. Rounding off the celebrations is a live DJ set.

Sham previously told the ECHO: “We’re currently in trials at our Upper Parliament Street site, and while the exact opening date remains under wraps, it won’t be long before Liverpool gets its first taste.

“We couldn’t imagine launching Marty’s anywhere else. Liverpool is our home, it’s a city with energy, character, and people who love good food. To bring something world-class here first feels special, and we can’t wait to share it with everyone.”

Marty’s was born from Sham and Moss’s story as two childhood best friends from Liverpool. They proudly told how they were both “born and raise in Old Swan”, living on the same street, going to the same nursery, school and then university.

Their friendship then took them on a trip to New York, where the pair found themselves sitting on the Brooklyn Bridge late at night, eating a SmashBurger that stopped them “in their tracks”.

Sam said: “It wasn’t just the food, it was the flavour, the craft, the experience. From that moment, we made a promise to bring that same standard home to Liverpool.

“That promise shaped everything we do today. At Marty’s, every burger is built on 100% grass-fed Black Angus beef, chosen for its richness and tenderness. And then there’s our chicken smash, something nobody else in the UK is offering.

“Chicken smashes are notoriously hard to perfect because they dry out, but ours uses prime organic, Soil Association certified cuts, seared to a golden crust while staying tender and juicy. It’s a new standard for chicken, and it’s only at Marty’s.

“From the potato buns to our signature ‘fire dip’ every element is crafted with care, flavour, and pride. This isn’t just another burger brand – Marty’s is the home of the SmashBurger in Liverpool.”

Asda Express on Parliament Street will be opened by the end of this yearAsda Express on Parliament Street will be opened by the end of this year

It isn’t the only new venue expected to open on Parliament Street. Just a few doors down, an Asda Express is getting underway to open. It will be the supermarket giant’s first venture into the area.

This week saw official signage go up in the 4,000 square-foot space. The express site will be located within the rising Parliament Square zone, sitting beneath a large residential development, owned by Legacie.

The Baltic Triangle’s Asda is just one of 20 new stores that will open across the country. The openings are due to begin early October, starting with an Asda Express site in Castleford.

This will be followed by the rest, opening from late October onwards. All of the new branches will be Express convenience stores. Asda confirmed the Liverpool site “is on track” to be opened by the end of this year.
