Stark images have revealed the aftermath of a serious crash in an Edinburgh park which saw three people rushed to hospital.
The incident happened around 1.30am on Thursday and involved a black Suzuki Jimny which hit a building at Drumbrae park.
Images taken from the scene show the vehicle wrecked after the incident. The windows were smashed and the front of the car appears to be wedged into the wall of the building.
Police remain in attendance almost 10 hours after the crash.
One dog walker told Edinburgh Live: “I was just out with the dog when I stumbled across a 4×4 in the back of the leisure centre. There’s always something at Drum Brae Park.
“All the windows were smashed and the front of the vehicle was wedged into the wall. Looked like some bad damage to the back of the car as it was the front that slammed into the wall.
“There were tyre marks all over the field at the site of the crash as well. It looks like they were on the field for a bit before.”
Emergency services attended and a 20-year-old man, a passenger, was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where his condition is described as critical.
The driver, an 18-year-old man, and another passenger, a 19-year-old man, were treated at hospital for minor injuries.
